The event will be hosted by Cerro Coso Community College in beautiful Ridgecrest, California.
The workshop will be divided into two segments:
Friday, October 8, 2010 Sign up for 1 Class –Either KidWind Teacher Workshop OR Intro to Solar Training
o KidWind Teacher Workshop: Specialized training for middle and high school teachers to provide renewable energy instruction to students in the engineering, design of wind turbines. Students will design their own wind turbines in teams and compete in the regional KidWind competitions that will take place in the Spring. Teachers receive a comprehensive curriculum package, free classroom materials, substitute fees who attend training on Friday and $100 stipend plus hotel for those who attend both days.
o Introduction to Solar Training: Dedicated to helping high school and college instructors increase their working knowledge of how to develop or enhance curriculum to meet the new and emerging demands in solar technology training. The focus will be on how to develop instructional programs in Solar Electricity Photovoltaics, for colleges and schools.
Saturday, October 9, 2010
