How is the National Science Foundation (NSF) involved in this website?
This website was developed in 2006-07 and continues with funding from NSF (DUE #0602710 and #1003733). The Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program at the NSF is specifically dedicated to the improvement of technician education.
Why are the faculty development events posted on this website less expensive?
Advanced Technological Education and other grants awarded by the National Science Foundation can include activities designed to improve technician education. These grant-funded projects frequently include financial support for faculty development events to stimulate participation and reduce the cost to participants.
If I create an account, how much e-mail will this generate to the address I provide?
The number of e-mails you will receive will vary by the number of events that are posted that match your search criteria. Some years there may be no events being offered that match your criteria. Other years there may be several. Each e-mail, however, will consist of only a single sentence that provides a quick link to www.TeachingTechnicians.org.
If I create an account and select my search criteria, how can I change my preferences later?

Whose events get posted on this site?
All National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Education (NSF/ATE) projects may post their events on this site. Other NSF grant-supported events providing faculty development for teachers of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics will be posted. A limited number of other events may be posted if the activity is determined to be relevant and appropriate by the site’s editorial team.
What about international participants?
International participants are encouraged to participate. Participants should take into account any additional travel arrangements needed to make international travel possible.
Are all events held in the United States?
The majority of the events on this site are held in the United States; however, from time to time you may find international events posted on this site.
What are the benefits of creating an account?
Creating an account is easy and it allows you to post events and sign up for event notifications. You may search events and contact the person or organization who posted the event without an accountTo create a personalized search so that you will be notified of events that match your interests, you must create an account. You will not be notified every time a new event is posted unless you choose that option. This saves you search time and also will keep you from missing something if you are too busy to regularly visit www.TeachingTechnicians.org.
